For your business
The world is moving towards a green economy, and South Africa must do so too if it is to continue trading internationally. Our existing buildings and other infrastructure must be adapted to make the way they are operated more sustainable, and new infrastructure must be built according to green principles, so that it does not use more natural resources than absolutely necessary. A lot of work needs to be done. This is where you come in.
But how do you make sure you can get some of this work?
- Make sure that you have the skills and knowledge to expertly install green infrastructure, and to repair and maintain it, and you could find yourself very busy. Find out where to get skills training here
- Use technology to help you improve your business efficiency and to make sure that your business produces as little waste as possible and uses as little energy and water as possible. Even small changes such as switching to LED lights or installing low-flow taps can help a lot
- Recycle waste
- Make sure your suppliers are also “going green”
- Learn as much as you can about the green economy, and make changes wherever you can. You can use all these changes you make as a selling point
Also, pass the message on to your colleagues, staff, family and friends. This is something we can all share.
